Tag detacher manufacturers

The most critical factor is the magnetic strength, measured in Gauss (GS). For standard EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) tags, a strength of 7,500 GS to 10,000 GS is usually sufficient. However, for high-security or 'super' tags, you must ensure the detacher has a rating of 12,000 GS to 15,000 GS. Additionally, verify the internal diameter of the detacher to ensure it is compatible with the specific dimensions of the hard tags you are using.

You must match the detacher to the tag type: Acousto-Magnetic (AM 58KHz) or Radio Frequency (RF 8.2MHz). While magnetic detachers are generally universal for magnetic-lock tags, mechanical detachers (like hooks or sensor keys) are specific to brands like Sensormatic or Checkpoint. Always request a compatibility test report or a video demonstration from the supplier using your specific tag model.

Look for detachers housed in anodized aluminum alloy or high-impact ABS plastic to ensure longevity in high-traffic retail environments. The magnetic core should be made of Neodymium (NdFeB), which offers the highest permanent magnetic performance. Ensure the supplier provides a surface treatment that prevents oxidation and maintains the aesthetic of the checkout counter.

For flush-mount or under-counter detachers, check the cut-out dimensions and mounting hole alignment. Professional B2B buyers should prioritize models that include anti-theft lock covers or keys, allowing the detacher to be secured when the checkout lane is unattended to prevent unauthorized use by shoplifters.

Magnetic products are classified as 'Dangerous Goods' for air freight. You must ensure the supplier provides a Magnetic Inspection Report and uses shielded packaging (iron sheets or specialized foam) to prevent interference with aircraft navigation. For bulk orders, sea freight is more economical and has fewer restrictions on magnetic flux.

Prioritize 'Audited Suppliers' who have undergone on-site inspections by third-party agencies like SGS or Bureau Veritas. Check their Business License and 'Full Audit Report' on the platform to confirm their production capacity and export experience. Always use Secured Trading services to protect your payment until the goods are received.

Avoid focusing solely on the lowest unit price. Low-cost detachers often use recycled magnets or lower-grade Neodymium that loses magnetism over time. Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), including the cost of shielded shipping and the warranty period (ideally 2+ years for the magnetic core).

Ensure the product carries CE and RoHS certification, especially if it includes electronic components or specialized alloys. Some countries may require a Declaration of Conformity. Additionally, clarify the HS Code (typically 8505.11) with your customs broker to determine the exact import duties and avoid delays at the border.
