Stuffed cow manufacturers

For the US market, products must comply with ASTM F963 and the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act), requiring a Children’s Product Certificate (CPC). For the EU market, the EN71 (Parts 1, 2, and 3) standard is mandatory, and the product must bear the CE Mark. Ensure the supplier provides lab test reports from accredited third parties like SGS, ITS, or TUV to verify the absence of lead, phthalates, and flammable materials.

Focus on the fabric type (e.g., Crystal Super Soft, PV fleece, or Felt) and the filling material (typically 100% PP cotton). High-quality stuffed cows should use high-density stuffing to prevent deformation. Request a tension test report for 'small parts' like plastic eyes or bells to ensure they can withstand at least 90 Newtons of force, preventing choking hazards for children.

Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com usually offer logo embroidery, custom heat-transfer printing, and private labeling. You should also inquire about customized hangtags and packaging (polybags vs. display boxes). If you have a unique design, ensure the supplier can provide a prototype sample within 5-7 days and clarify the ownership of the intellectual property for the custom design.

Key specs include size (height/length), weight per unit, and stitching density. Ensure the supplier uses needle detection machines during the final packaging phase to guarantee no broken needles remain inside the plush. For eco-friendly brands, look for GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified recycled polyester stuffing.

Plush toys are 'light cargo' (high volume, low weight). Use vacuum packaging to reduce the volume by up to 50-70%, significantly lowering sea freight costs. However, ensure the supplier uses high-resilience PP cotton so the product regains its shape quickly after unpacking.

Avoid sourcing stuffed cows that closely resemble famous copyrighted characters (e.g., Disney or Squishmallows) unless the supplier has a valid licensing agreement. Customs may seize and destroy infringing goods, and you could face legal action. Always prioritize original designs or your own branded concepts.

Utilize the Secured Trading Service on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment. Do not release the full payment until the Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) is completed. It is recommended to hire a third-party inspector to check the AQL (Acceptable Quality Level), focusing on seam strength and cleanliness.

Negotiate based on MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) tiers. For example, a 1,000-unit order may have a 15-20% lower unit price than a 100-unit order. Also, negotiate for free samples for your next development cycle or a 2-5% spare parts allowance to cover any minor defects found upon arrival.
