Stevia leaf manufacturers

When evaluating Stevia Leaf, the primary focus should be on the Steviol Glycoside content, specifically the ratio of Rebaudioside A (Reb-A) to Stevioside. High-quality leaves typically yield a higher Reb-A percentage, which provides a cleaner sweetness without the bitter aftertaste. Additionally, ensure the leaves are vibrant green, indicating proper drying techniques, and check for a moisture content below 10% to prevent mold growth during transit.

As a food-grade product, Stevia Leaf must adhere to strict safety regulations. Buyers should verify that suppliers hold ISO 22000 or HACCP certifications for food safety management. For the US market, FDA registration is essential, while the EU market requires compliance with EFSA regulations and REACH standards. If targeting the health-conscious segment, prioritize suppliers with Organic (USDA or EU Organic), Kosher, and Halal certifications.

The choice between whole leaf, TBC (Tea Bag Cut), or fine powder depends on the end-use. Tea Bag Cut (TBC) is ideal for beverage manufacturers, requiring a specific mesh size (usually 20-60 mesh) to ensure optimal infusion. For extraction facilities, whole dried leaves are often preferred to maintain chemical integrity. Ensure the supplier uses low-temperature air drying rather than high-heat methods to preserve the natural sweetness and antioxidant properties.

A professional B2B contract should specify the purity level (minimum 90-95% total glycosides), heavy metal limits (Lead <1ppm, Arsenic <0.5ppm), and microbiological limits (Total Plate Count <10,000 cfu/g). It is also vital to define the packaging requirements, such as vacuum-sealed moisture-proof bags or double-layered PE bags inside fiber drums, to ensure stability during long-term storage.

The most significant risk is adulteration or pesticide residues. To mitigate this, always request a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch and utilize third-party inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to perform random sampling before shipment. Another risk is price volatility in the botanical market; consider signing long-term supply agreements with fixed pricing tiers to stabilize your supply chain costs.

Focus on transparency and scalability. Ask for a sample kit containing different grades of leaves to compare sweetness profiles. Negotiate based on volume-based pricing; for instance, a 500kg order may have a 10-15% higher unit price than a full container load (FCL). Inquire about OEM/Private Labeling capabilities if you intend to sell directly to retail, as many top-tier suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer customized retail packaging.

Stevia Leaf is bulky but light, so freight volume (CBM) often impacts cost more than weight. For sea freight, use FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over your logistics costs and insurance. Ensure the supplier provides a Phytosanitary Certificate and a Non-GMO Declaration, as these are critical for customs clearance in most countries. For urgent small batches, air freight with humidity-controlled packaging is recommended to prevent degradation.

Always prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone comprehensive on-site inspections. Use secure payment methods that offer buyer protection and avoid direct wire transfers to unverified personal accounts. Requesting a factory video tour or a live demonstration of their quality control lab can further verify the supplier's legitimacy and operational capacity.
