Shantui sd16 manufacturers

The Shantui SD16 is a 160hp (120kW) medium-sized bulldozer. Buyers must verify the engine type, typically the Weichai WD10G178E25 or Cummins NT855-C280S10, ensuring it meets local emission standards (e.g., Tier 2 or Tier 3). Key performance metrics include an operating weight of 17,000kg, a blade capacity of 4.5m³ for the standard version, and a ground pressure of 0.067MPa. Ensure the hydraulic system uses high-quality pumps and valves to guarantee smooth blade control and longevity.

The SD16 series offers specialized configurations: the SD16L (LGP) features extra-wide triangular tracks for swamp and wetland operations to prevent sinking; the SD16R is designed for waste management/landfills with larger blades and specialized seals; and the SD16C is tailored for coal handling. Selecting the version that matches your soil conditions and application is critical for operational efficiency and machine lifespan.

Ensure the supplier provides ISO 9001 certification for manufacturing quality management. For international trade, the machine should have CE marking for the European market or relevant EAC certification for Russia and Central Asia. Verify that the ROPS (Roll-Over Protective Structure) and FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structure) meet ISO 3471 and ISO 3449 standards to ensure operator safety.

Regular maintenance is vital. Focus on the undercarriage components (track rollers, idlers, and segments), which account for a large portion of wear costs. Buyers should ensure the use of genuine Shantui filters and lubricants. The centralized pressure measurement system in the SD16 allows for easy diagnostics; ensure your technical team is trained to monitor transmission and hydraulic pressures every 500 operating hours.

Request the Original Equipment Certificate and the Engine Serial Number (ESN). Cross-reference these with Shantui’s official database or authorized service centers. Be wary of 'refurbished' units sold as new; check for overspray on hydraulic hoses or wear on the sprocket teeth. For secure sourcing, prioritize Gold Members or Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone third-party verification.

The SD16 is typically shipped via Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) vessels or Flat Rack containers. If using standard containers, the blade, push arms, and cabin may need to be disassembled to fit, which requires professional reassembly at the destination. Ensure the supplier applies anti-corrosion wax to all exposed metal surfaces and hydraulic cylinders to prevent sea salt erosion during transit.

Avoid 100% upfront payments. A standard B2B structure is 30% T/T deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L) after inspection. Utilize inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct a pre-shipment audit. For maximum security, use secured payment escrow services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment.

Since international onsite service is difficult, negotiate for a wear-parts package (filters, seals, bolts) to be included in the initial shipment. Ensure the contract specifies a 12-month or 2,000-hour warranty and guarantees the provision of English-language technical manuals and remote video diagnostic support.
