Scorpion helmets distributors manufacturers

Safety is the paramount concern for protective headgear. You must ensure the helmets comply with ECE 22.06 (the latest European standard) or DOT FMVSS 218 (for the US market). For high-performance or racing segments, look for SNELL M2020 or FIM FRHPhe-01 certifications. Always request official test reports from the supplier to verify that the specific batch meets these impact and penetration standards.

Focus on proprietary technologies such as the Airfit™ Inflation System, which allows riders to customize fit via adjustable cheek pads. Additionally, prioritize models featuring TCT™ (Thermodynamical Composite Technology) shells for lightweight durability, Pinlock® MaxVision anti-fog inserts, and KwikWick® moisture-wicking liners. Ensuring these features are present will justify a higher price point and increase marketability.

High-end distributors should offer a mix of Polycarbonate, Fiberglass, and Carbon Fiber shells. Carbon fiber is preferred for the premium segment due to its superior strength-to-weight ratio. Inspect the EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) liner density; multi-layer, multi-density EPS provides better energy absorption during impacts. Ensure the ventilation channels are integrated into the EPS for optimal airflow.

Visors must meet optical Class 1 standards to prevent distortion and eye fatigue. They should offer 100% UV protection and be treated with anti-scratch coatings. If sourcing for the EU, ensure the visors carry the E-mark. For distributors, offering EverClear™ no-fog technology is a significant competitive advantage in humid or cold climates.

Counterfeit safety gear poses massive legal and safety risks. Always source from verified gold suppliers on Made-in-China.com who can provide brand authorization letters. Conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspection service like SGS or Intertek to perform a 'During Production Check' (DUPRO) and a 'Final Random Inspection' (FRI) to ensure the physical product matches the certified samples.

Helmet molds are expensive, so MOQs for custom colors or graphics are usually higher (often 300-500 units). Negotiate for tiered pricing where the unit cost drops by 10-15% as volume increases. If you are a new distributor, negotiate a mixed-model container (combining full-face, modular, and open-face models) to meet the MOQ while diversifying your initial inventory.

Helmets are high-volume but relatively fragile regarding surface finishes. Insist on double-walled corrugated export cartons and individual soft cloth helmet bags for every unit. Use moisture-absorbent silica gel packs in each box to prevent mold on the inner liners during long sea voyages. Ensure the shipping terms are CIF or DAP if you want the supplier to handle the insurance risk until the goods reach your port.

Check the HS Code (typically 6506.10) for your specific country to determine import duties. Be aware of anti-dumping duties that some regions (like the EU or Brazil) may impose on protective headgear from specific manufacturing hubs. Utilize Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure your payment is held in escrow until the shipping documents and Certificate of Origin are verified, helping you claim preferential tariff rates under trade agreements.
