Salt shaker manufacturers

When sourcing salt shakers, material choice directly impacts durability and food safety. Stainless steel (304 or 316 grade) is preferred for its corrosion resistance against salt. For glass options, high-borosilicate glass is recommended due to its thermal shock resistance and clarity. If selecting plastic, ensure it is BPA-free and food-grade (PP or AS) to meet international health standards.

To ensure smooth customs clearance and consumer safety, products must comply with FDA (U.S.) or LFGB (Germany/EU) food contact regulations. For the European market, CE marking may be required if the shaker includes an electric grinding mechanism. Always request Migration Test Reports to verify that no harmful chemicals leach from the container into the salt.

Focus on the sealing mechanism to prevent moisture ingress, which causes salt to clump; a silicone gasket is often a sign of high quality. For grinders, the ceramic core is superior to plastic or metal as it does not rust and maintains sharpness longer. Check the adjustable coarseness settings to ensure they provide a consistent output from fine to coarse grains.

Salt shakers serve diverse markets, from high-end HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe) sectors requiring elegant designs to household retail markets focusing on ergonomics. For B2B branding, look for suppliers offering laser engraving for logos or customized color boxes. Stackable designs are a significant advantage for commercial kitchens with limited storage space.

Salt shakers, especially glass or ceramic ones, are fragile. You should mandate 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual bubble wrap or EPE foam inserts. Request a Drop Test Report (ISTA 1A or 2A) from the supplier before shipment to ensure the packaging can withstand the rigors of international logistics.

Start by verifying the supplier's 'Audited Supplier' status on Made-in-China.com to ensure they have undergone on-site inspections. When negotiating, focus on Tiered Pricing; for example, a 500-unit order might have a 10% higher unit cost than a 2,000-unit order. Always clarify the Lead Time and include a penalty clause for late delivery in the Proforma Invoice (PI).

Utilize Secured Trading Services offered by the platform to protect your funds. Avoid paying 100% upfront; a standard industry practice is a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment after a successful Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). Ensure all technical specifications and quality benchmarks are documented in the contract to provide leverage in case of a dispute.

For small sample batches, Express Courier (DHL/FedEx) is fastest but expensive. For medium orders (1-5 CBM), LCL (Less than Container Load) sea freight is the most economical. For large-scale distribution, FCL (Full Container Load) significantly reduces the per-unit shipping cost and minimizes handling risks. Always confirm the Incoterms (typically FOB or CIF) to understand where your liability begins.
