Plastic watch manufacturers

When sourcing plastic watches, prioritize ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) for the case due to its high impact resistance and TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) or Silicone for straps to ensure flexibility and skin-friendliness. Ensure the watch crystal is made of hardened acrylic or mineral glass to prevent easy scratching. For long-term durability, verify that the plastic is UV-stabilized to prevent discoloration or brittleness when exposed to sunlight.

Specify the use of Japanese (e.g., Seiko or Miyota) or Swiss movements for high-end promotional lines to ensure accuracy and a lower defect rate. For budget-friendly mass orders, reliable Chinese quartz movements are acceptable. Always confirm the battery life; a standard plastic quartz watch should have a battery longevity of 12 to 24 months, and suppliers should provide MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for battery transport.

For the US market, products must comply with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act), especially regarding lead and phthalate content in plastic parts. For the EU, RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and REACH certifications are mandatory to ensure the absence of toxic chemicals. Additionally, ensure the product carries the CE mark and that the factory holds an ISO 9001 or BSCI audit to guarantee ethical and quality production standards.

Clearly define the ATM rating based on the use case: 3 ATM (30m) is suitable for daily splash resistance, while 5 ATM (50m) is required for swimming. For sports-oriented plastic watches, aim for 10 ATM. Always request a vacuum leak test report from the supplier to verify that the seals and gaskets meet the claimed water resistance depth.

Implement a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) using AQL 2.5/4.0 standards. Focus on 'functional checks' such as time accuracy, button responsiveness, and strap pull tests. Since plastic molds can wear down, check for burrs, sharp edges, or injection molding defects that could affect user comfort or brand reputation.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Ask for tiered pricing based on volume (e.g., 1k, 5k, 10k units) and request spare parts (1-2% extra straps or batteries) to be included at no cost. For customized OEM orders, negotiate the mold fee refund policy once a certain order volume is reached.

Utilize secure payment methods and consider using the Secured Trading services on Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until the goods pass inspection. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts; always ensure the beneficiary name matches the company name on the business license and the proforma invoice.

Watches are classified as 'Dangerous Goods' (UN3481) due to lithium or button cell batteries. Ensure your supplier provides the UN38.3 test report. For shipping to the US or Europe, choose freight forwarders experienced in battery-inclusive electronics to avoid customs seizures or airline rejections. Using sea freight for large volumes is more cost-effective but requires moisture-proof packaging (silica gel packets) to prevent internal fogging.
