Paint by numbers manufacturers

When evaluating quality, focus on the canvas material, which should be high-density linen or professional-grade cotton to prevent wrinkling and ensure smooth paint absorption. The acrylic paints must be non-toxic, vacuum-sealed, and possess high pigment density to cover printed numbers in a single coat. Additionally, the nylon brushes should have secure ferrules to prevent shedding during use.

For cross-border trade, compliance is non-negotiable. Ensure the supplier provides ASTM D-4236 (U.S.) or EN71-3 (EU) certifications, which verify that the paints are safe and free from heavy metals. If the kits are intended for children, CPSIA compliance is mandatory. Always request MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for the liquid components to facilitate smooth customs clearance.

Most professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. This includes customized packaging (color boxes or tubes), private labeling, and 'Paint Your Photo' services where buyers provide high-resolution images to be converted into custom kits. Ensure the supplier uses high-precision laser printing for the canvas outlines to maintain detail accuracy.

Kits are typically sold in three formats: Rolled (no frame), DIY Frame (wooden strips included), and Stretched (pre-mounted on a frame). While Stretched kits offer the best user experience, they significantly increase volumetric weight, leading to higher shipping costs. For bulk e-commerce, Rolled or DIY Frame kits are more economically feasible as they minimize storage space and transit damage risks.

Start by requesting a pre-production sample to verify color accuracy and canvas texture. In your contract, specify that the mass production quality must match the approved sample. Utilize third-party inspection services to check the moisture content of wooden frames (to prevent warping) and the seal integrity of paint pots before the final balance payment is made.

The primary risk is paint drying out due to extreme temperature fluctuations during sea freight. Insist on vacuum packaging for paint sets and avoid shipping during peak summer months if using non-climate-controlled containers. For shipping to the U.S. or Europe, choose DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms if you want the supplier to handle all customs formalities, or FOB if you have a reliable freight forwarder to manage costs.

Always conduct transactions through secure payment channels provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Use Trade Assurance or similar escrow services that withhold payment until you confirm receipt of goods. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts; ensure the beneficiary name matches the company name on the business license.

Ensure the designs provided by the supplier do not infringe on copyrighted artworks or famous characters. If you are providing your own designs, sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and an IP Protection Agreement to prevent the manufacturer from selling your proprietary designs to other competitors.
