Man hoody manufacturers

When sourcing hoodies, prioritize fabric weight (GSM); a standard mid-weight hoodie ranges from 280-320 GSM, while heavyweight premium options exceed 350-400 GSM. Material composition is critical: 100% Cotton offers maximum breathability and a premium feel, while CVC (Chief Value Cotton) or TC (Polyester/Cotton) blends provide better shrinkage resistance and durability. For high-end markets, look for French Terry for a structured look or Brushed Fleece for a soft, warm interior.

The choice depends on the design complexity and budget. Screen Printing is most cost-effective for large bulk orders with simple logos. Direct-to-Garment (DTG) is ideal for high-detail, multi-color designs with lower MOQs. For a premium brand aesthetic, High-Density Embroidery or Chenille Patches add tactile value. If sourcing performance or streetwear hoodies, Puff Printing or Reflective Heat Transfers are currently trending techniques to enhance marketability.

Ensure the supplier complies with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which guarantees the textiles are free from harmful substances. For the US market, products must adhere to CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) regarding lead content and flammability. For the EU, REACH regulation compliance is mandatory. Additionally, verify that the factory holds BSCI or SEDEX social audit certifications to ensure ethical labor practices, which is a growing requirement for global B2B buyers.

Check for Double-Needle Stitching at the neck, armholes, and waistband to ensure seam strength. Inspect the ribbing quality at the cuffs and hem; it should have high elasticity (often containing 5% Spandex) to prevent sagging. Verify the drawstring hardware—metal aglets (tips) and reinforced eyelets significantly increase the perceived value compared to plastic alternatives. Finally, perform a wash test to check for colorfastness and a shrinkage rate of less than 5%.

Size standards vary significantly between regions (Asian vs. US/EU sizing). Always provide a detailed Tech Pack with a Size Chart in centimeters. Request a Pre-Production Sample (PPS) and physically measure it against your specs. Never rely on generic terms like 'Large'; instead, define specific measurements for chest width, body length, and sleeve length to avoid receiving unsellable inventory.

Focus on Total Value rather than just the unit price. Negotiate based on volume tiers (e.g., asking for a price break at 500, 1,000, and 5,000 units). Discuss payment terms; a standard is 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L). For long-term partnerships, negotiate for free sampling or reduced lead times during peak seasons (Q3/Q4).

Hoodies are bulky, so vacuum packaging can reduce volume by up to 50%, significantly lowering Sea Freight or Air Freight costs. For large orders, use FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over your shipping agent and costs. If you are a small business, consider DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) to simplify the process, as the supplier handles all customs duties and final-mile delivery.

Always conduct transactions through secured payment channels provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Utilize Third-Party Inspection services (such as SGS or Intertek) to perform a Final Random Inspection (FRI) before the balance payment is made. This ensures the goods meet the agreed-upon quality standards before they leave the exporter's country.
