Lemon slice manufacturers

Lemon slices are versatile commodities used across multiple industries. In the Food & Beverage sector, they are essential for cocktail garnishes, tea infusions, and bakery decorations. In the Health & Beauty industry, dried lemon slices are utilized in herbal tea blends and cosmetic formulations due to their high Vitamin C content. For Home Decor, dehydrated slices are popular in potpourri and seasonal wreaths.

Freeze-Dried (FD) slices offer the best nutrient retention, color preservation, and rehydration speed, making them premium choices for high-end teas. Air-Dried (AD) slices are more cost-effective and have a tougher texture, ideal for decorative purposes or industrial extraction. Preserved or Honey-Soaked slices are specifically processed for direct consumption or instant beverage use, often requiring specific food additive compliance.

Buyers must ensure suppliers hold HACCP or ISO 22000 certifications for food safety management. For entry into the US market, FDA registration is mandatory. For European markets, compliance with EU Pesticide Residue Limits and Phytosanitary Certificates is critical. If targeting health-conscious consumers, prioritize suppliers with Organic (USDA/EU) or Kosher/Halal certifications.

Request samples to check for uniformity in thickness (typically 2-4mm) and color consistency (avoiding brown oxidation). Ensure the moisture content is below 10% for dried slices to prevent mold. For freeze-dried products, check the integrity of the pulp; high-quality slices should not be overly brittle or crumbled into powder during transit.

The most significant risks include moisture absorption during sea freight, leading to mold, and pesticide residue non-compliance at customs. To mitigate this, ensure the use of vacuum-sealed moisture-proof packaging with desiccant packs and request a Third-Party Inspection (such as SGS or Intertek) for chemical analysis before the balance payment is made.

Focus on Tiered Pricing; for lemon slices, a volume increase from 500kg to 2 tons can often reduce the unit price by 15-20%. Negotiate for OEM packaging (private labeling) early in the discussion. Always use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to protect your payment until the shipping documents are verified.

Dried lemon slices should be shipped in cool, dry containers; avoid shipping during peak humidity seasons without reefer containers if the journey exceeds 30 days. Upon arrival, store in a temperature-controlled warehouse (below 20°C) away from direct sunlight to prevent pigment degradation and flavor loss.

Verify the supplier's Business License and Export Permit on the platform. Ensure the HS Code (typically 0805.50 or 0813.40) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays or incorrect tariff applications. Use Incoterms like FOB or CIF to clearly define the point of risk transfer between you and the manufacturer.
