Lamp manufacturers

When sourcing lamps, you must prioritize Luminous Efficacy (lm/W) to ensure energy efficiency and Color Rendering Index (CRI), where a CRI > 80 is standard for residential use and CRI > 90 is preferred for retail or gallery settings. Additionally, verify the Driver Quality, as the driver is the component most likely to fail; look for brands like Mean Well or Lifud. For outdoor or bathroom lamps, an IP Rating of at least IP44 or IP65 is essential to ensure water and dust resistance.

Compliance varies by destination market. For the US market, ensure products are UL or ETL listed and meet FCC Part 15 for electromagnetic interference. For the EU market, CE marking (LVD and EMC directives) and RoHS compliance are mandatory. If you are selling in the UK, the UKCA mark is now required. Always request valid test reports from accredited third-party labs like TUV, SGS, or Intertek to avoid customs seizures.

Focus on Material Heat Dissipation; high-quality lamps use die-cast aluminum or thermal plastics rather than cheap thin PVC. Check the Insulation Class (Class I, II, or III) to ensure proper grounding. For glass components, specify tempered glass to prevent injury if broken. You should also request a Salt Spray Test report if the lamps will be used in coastal areas to prevent corrosion of metal finishes.

Smart lamps offer higher margins and integration capabilities. Ensure compatibility with major ecosystems like Tuya, Zigbee, or Matter. Verify that the supplier provides Firmware Update Support and has a secure Cloud API. Sourcing through Made-in-China.com allows you to find 'Diamond Members' who specialize in OEM/ODM smart home solutions with established software stability.

The primary risk is breakage during transit. You should mandate Drop Testing (ISTA 1A or 2A) for all packaging. Ensure the supplier uses 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and custom-fit EPE foam or molded pulp instead of loose bubble wrap. For large chandeliers, wooden crate reinforcement is highly recommended to prevent crushing.

Do not just negotiate on unit price; negotiate on Component Transparency. Specify the LED chip brand (e.g., Cree, Osram, or Lumileds) in the contract. Use Trade Terms that include a 20-30% retention payment until the Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) is passed. On Made-in-China.com, look for Audited Suppliers to ensure the factory capacity matches your order volume.

Always use Secured Payment services provided by the platform to protect your funds. Never wire money to personal bank accounts; ensure the beneficiary name matches the registered company name on the business license. Conduct a Video Factory Audit or hire a third-party inspector to verify the goods before the final balance is paid.

If the lamps include lithium batteries (e.g., emergency lights or solar lamps), they are classified as Dangerous Goods (DG). You must provide a UN38.3 Test Report and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet). Work with a freight forwarder experienced in DG handling to avoid shipment delays or fines at the port of entry.
