Header card polybag manufacturers

When sourcing, you must distinguish between BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene), which offers high clarity and stiffness for retail display, and LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene), which provides better puncture resistance. Ensure the thickness is specified in microns (typically 30-50μm) to balance cost and durability. For the header, a white pearlized film or reinforced cardboard is standard to prevent the hanging hole from tearing under the weight of the product.

Request Gravure printing for high-volume orders to achieve sharp, consistent brand colors, or Digital printing for small batches with complex graphics. It is critical to verify the ink adhesion through a tape test to ensure the design doesn't peel during transit. Always provide Pantone color codes and request a pre-production physical sample to confirm color accuracy before mass production.

For lightweight items, a standard Euro-hole or round punch is sufficient. However, for heavier items, specify a reinforced header. If the product requires ventilation (like textiles), include air punch holes. For security, choose between a permanent destructive adhesive strip (tamper-evident) or a resealable adhesive if the consumer needs to feel the texture of the goods before purchase.

Ensure the bags are BPA-free and comply with REACH or RoHS standards for chemical safety, especially if packaging toys or food-contact items. To align with global sustainability trends, inquire about GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified materials or biodegradable options (like PLA). Always check if your target market requires suffocation warning labels printed directly on the bag for sizes exceeding a specific opening width.

The most common risk in polybag sourcing is 'gauge reduction' where the supplier provides thinner material than quoted. To prevent this, specify the net weight per 1,000 bags in the contract. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to hold payment until a third-party inspection (like SGS or Intertek) verifies the thickness and quantity during the loading process.

Header card polybags are lightweight but can be voluminous. To optimize costs, request vacuum compression packing or high-density stacking in cartons to reduce the dimensional weight. For large orders, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is significantly cheaper than air, but you must account for a 30-45 day lead time. Ensure the outer cartons are 5-layer corrugated cardboard to prevent crushing during long-haul sea transit.

Suppliers usually charge a one-time copperplate fee for each color in your design. Negotiate to have this fee refunded or waived once your cumulative order volume reaches a certain threshold (e.g., 50,000 units). If you have multiple SKUs, suggest using a universal bag size with different header card inserts to consolidate volume and meet Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) more easily.

Always verify the supplier's Business License and Export Qualification on the platform. Conduct all communications and payments through official channels to maintain a paper trail. For first-time orders, avoid paying 100% upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is the industry norm for protecting buyer interests.
