Ginger jar manufacturers

When sourcing Ginger Jars, prioritize high-fired porcelain (1200°C - 1400°C) as it ensures a non-porous, durable body with a glass-like finish. For traditional aesthetics, look for hand-painted underglaze blue and white patterns, which are more valuable and durable than decals. Ensure the glaze is smooth and free of pinholes, bubbles, or black spots, which are signs of poor kiln control.

A premium Ginger Jar must have a well-fitted lid with a consistent gap to maintain its iconic silhouette. Check for structural symmetry by viewing the jar from multiple angles; it should not lean. The base should be polished smooth to prevent scratching furniture surfaces, and the weight should be balanced and substantial to prevent tipping.

Even if used for decoration, Ginger Jars must comply with Lead and Cadmium leaching limits (e.g., FDA standards for the US or 84/500/EEC for the EU), especially if they might hold food. Ensure the supplier provides CCIC or SGS test reports confirming the glaze is non-toxic and heavy-metal free.

For interior design projects, source a variety of heights (Small: 8-10", Medium: 12-16", Large: 18"+). Classic Ming-style floral patterns are perennial bestsellers, while solid-colored jars with metallic accents or geometric patterns appeal to modern minimalist markets. Always request high-resolution photos of the bottom stamps to verify the kiln's origin.

Ceramics are high-risk items. Insist on 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and custom-fit EPE foam or molded pulp packaging. For bulk orders, palletization is mandatory to minimize manual handling. On Made-in-China.com, you can specify 'Drop-test passed packaging' in your contract to ensure the supplier uses export-grade protection.

Focus on MOQ flexibility for mixed designs rather than just the lowest price. Since ceramic production is batch-based, you can often get better rates by aligning your order with the supplier's existing production schedule. Always negotiate a 3-5% breakage allowance or credit for future orders to cover minor transit damages.

Use Secured Payment services on Made-in-China.com to hold funds until shipping documents are verified. For large volumes, hire a third-party inspection agency (like V-Trust or QIMA) to perform a 'During Production' or 'Pre-Shipment Inspection' to check for color consistency across the entire batch.

Due to the high volume-to-weight ratio and fragility, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical and safest method. Avoid air courier for large jars unless they are double-boxed, as the high handling frequency increases breakage risk. Ensure the Incoterms are clearly defined as FOB or CIF to clarify where the risk transfers.
