Fishing net float manufacturers

The most critical factor is the material's buoyancy-to-weight ratio and its resistance to environmental degradation. Common materials include EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate), which offers excellent flexibility and durability, PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) for high pressure resistance in deep-sea fishing, and Synthetic Rubber for heavy-duty industrial use. Ensure the floats are UV-stabilized to prevent cracking and loss of buoyancy under prolonged sunlight exposure.

For surface or shallow-water fishing, standard EVA floats are sufficient. However, for deep-sea or bottom trawling, you must specify the working depth (in meters). High-pressure resistant floats are required to prevent implosion or water absorption at depth. Always request the compression strength test report to ensure the float maintains its shape and buoyancy under specific hydrostatic pressures.

Suppliers should ideally hold ISO 9001 certification for quality management. For environmental compliance, especially in the EU market, ensure the materials are REACH and RoHS compliant to guarantee they are free from harmful phthalates and heavy metals. If the floats are used in aquaculture near food sources, verify that the materials are food-grade or non-toxic to marine ecosystems.

Request information on the tensile strength of the center hole to ensure it won't tear under the weight of heavy nets. Ask for accelerated weathering test results and water absorption rates (which should be less than 5%). A high-quality float should maintain its integrity for at least 2 to 5 years depending on the salinity and temperature of the operating environment.

The main risk is volumetric weight vs. actual weight shipping costs, as floats are bulky. To mitigate this, negotiate vacuum packaging or nested shipping configurations if the design allows. Another risk is material substitution (e.g., using recycled plastics instead of virgin EVA); always use Third-Party Inspection services like SGS or Intertek to conduct a pre-shipment buoyancy and material density check.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on annual volume rather than a single order. Since fishing is seasonal, negotiate a Stocking Agreement where the supplier keeps a buffer stock for you to ensure Fast Dispatch during peak seasons. Mention that you are looking for a long-term partner to secure OEM/ODM customization rights for specific colors or branded embossing at lower MOQs.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. For shipping, FOB (Free On Board) is generally recommended for bulk floats, allowing you to control the freight forwarder and optimize the container loading rate. Ensure the Bill of Lading accurately reflects the HS Code (typically under Chapter 39 or 40) to avoid customs delays or incorrect duty applications.
