Candy halal manufacturers

The most critical requirement is a valid Halal Certificate issued by a recognized body such as JAKIM (Malaysia), MUI (Indonesia), or HMC (UK). Additionally, the manufacturing facility should hold ISO 22000 or HACCP certifications to ensure food safety management systems are in place. For specific markets like the GCC, compliance with GSO standards is mandatory.

Suppliers must guarantee the absence of pork-derived gelatin, which is the most common non-halal ingredient in gummies. Instead, bovine gelatin (certified Halal), pectin, or agar-agar must be used. Furthermore, carmine (E120) derived from insects is prohibited by many Halal authorities, and any alcohol-based flavorings must remain below the permissible residual limit (usually <0.1%).

Buyers should request stability test reports to confirm a shelf life of typically 12 to 24 months. Pay close attention to the melting point of the glazing agents (like Carnauba wax) to ensure the candy can withstand high temperatures during cross-border transit, especially when shipping to tropical regions or the Middle East.

Labels must include the Halal logo of the certifying body, a full ingredient list in the target market's language, production and expiry dates, and allergen warnings. For B2B imports, the batch number and country of origin must be clearly visible to facilitate customs clearance and traceability.

Do not rely solely on a digital copy of a certificate. Cross-reference the certificate number on the official website of the issuing Halal authority. You can also use Made-in-China.com's 'Audited Supplier' reports to verify if the factory has undergone third-party onsite inspections regarding their production lines and certification validity.

The biggest risks are temperature fluctuations and moisture. For large volumes, utilize reefer containers (refrigerated) to prevent melting or clumping. Ensure the supplier uses moisture-proof master cartons and palletizes the goods with shrink wrap to prevent contamination and physical damage during sea freight.

Focus on MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) for custom packaging. While standard items may have low MOQs, private label (OEM) orders usually require higher volumes. Negotiate for staggered shipments if you have limited warehouse space, and always request a pre-shipment sample from the actual production batch to ensure consistency with the initial prototype.

Use Secured Trading Services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure payment is only released after the supplier provides proof of shipment. Additionally, consider hiring a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a loading supervision to verify that the Halal-certified goods are not mixed with non-certified items.
