Blister plate manufacturers

The choice of material is critical for functionality. PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) is the most common for general retail due to its clarity and low cost. PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is preferred for eco-friendly requirements as it is recyclable and BPA-free. For medical or pharmaceutical applications, ensure the material is medical-grade and sterilization-compatible. Always verify the thickness (typically 0.2mm to 1.5mm) to ensure structural integrity for the intended load.

For food-contact blister plates, suppliers must provide FDA or EU Food Grade (EC 1935/2004) certifications. If the plates are for electronics, RoHS and REACH compliance are mandatory to ensure no hazardous substances are present. Look for manufacturers with ISO 9001 certification to guarantee consistent production quality and ISO 14001 for environmental management standards.

The cavity depth and draft angle must be precisely engineered to prevent product movement and ensure easy de-molding. If the plate is part of a blister pack, the sealing flange width should be at least 3-5mm to ensure a secure bond with the backing card or foil. For fragile items, request anti-static (ESD) coatings or flocked finishes to prevent surface scratches and static discharge.

Yes, professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer extensive customization. This includes custom mold design (CNC aluminum molds) for precise dimensions, embossed logos for brand identification, and multi-cavity layouts to optimize shipping space. You should request 3D CAD drawings and a physical prototype before mass production to verify the fit.

The biggest risk is deformation during transit due to heat or pressure in shipping containers. Ensure the supplier uses reinforced 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and internal supports. Another risk is mold inaccuracy; always include a clause in your contract that the final product must match the approved golden sample, or the supplier is liable for rework.

Focus on the mold fee (tooling cost). For high-volume orders (e.g., >50,000 units), negotiate for a mold fee refund or amortization into the unit price. Additionally, ask for a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops significantly as volume increases, as the primary cost in blister thermoforming is the initial setup.

Use Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until delivery is confirmed. For shipping, FOB (Free On Board) is recommended for large volumes to maintain control over freight costs. Ensure the HS Code (typically 3923.10 for plastic boxes/cases) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays and ensure the correct import duty calculation.
