Biker gear manufacturers

For Biker Gear, safety is the primary concern. You must ensure that protective apparel meets CE Certification (EN 1621-1 for protectors, EN 17092 for garments). Helmets should comply with DOT (FMVSS 218) for the US market or ECE 22.06 for Europe. Always verify that the supplier can provide authentic test reports from accredited labs like SGS or TÜV to avoid legal and safety liabilities.

Focus on abrasion resistance and tear strength. High-quality gear typically uses Cordura® 500D to 1000D or top-grain cowhide leather (1.1mm - 1.3mm thickness). Check for double or triple stitching in high-impact zones. For waterproof gear, look for breathable membranes like Gore-Tex or Reissa, and ensure all seams are heat-sealed to prevent leakage during high-speed riding.

Key features include Level 2 CE-rated armor at shoulders, elbows, and knees, and a pocket for a back protector. For comfort, prioritize YKK zippers, adjustable ventilation ports, and accordion stretch panels at joints to ensure mobility. If sourcing for night riding, ensure the gear features 3M Scotchlite™ reflective piping for 360-degree visibility.

Sizing varies significantly between regions. You should request detailed size charts and compare them against Asian, European, or American fit standards. For B2B orders, it is highly recommended to request pre-production samples to verify the 'American Fit' (more generous) versus 'European Fit' (tapered/slim) to reduce return rates from end-consumers.

The biggest risk is counterfeit materials (e.g., regular nylon labeled as Cordura). To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services and hire third-party inspectors to perform a 'Burn Test' or 'Rub Test' on material swatches. Another risk is non-compliant protective inserts; always ensure the armor itself is stamped with the CE mark and the specific standard number.

Start by sourcing from Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com to ensure the factory exists and has the capacity. Negotiate a 30/70 payment structure (30% deposit, 70% upon successful QC inspection before shipping). For bulk orders exceeding 500 units, you can usually negotiate a 5-10% price reduction or ask for customized branding/private labeling at no extra cost.

Biker Gear is bulky and heavy. To optimize costs, use Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) for large orders, but ensure the supplier uses moisture-proof packaging and silica gel packets to prevent mold during long transit times. Be aware of HS Code classification (e.g., 6203.33 for synthetic jackets); incorrect coding can lead to customs delays or higher-than-expected import duties.
