Selecting the correct frequency (e.g., 2.4GHz, 5GHz, or 60GHz) is critical for performance. For long-distance point-to-point links, a high-gain parabolic dish (24dBi to 34dBi) is essential to focus the signal and minimize interference. Ensure the beamwidth is narrow enough to provide a stable connection over several kilometers while considering the Line of Sight (LoS) requirements.
Since these antennas are installed outdoors, they must have a high IP66 or IP67 waterproof rating. Look for materials like die-cast aluminum or UV-stabilized ABS plastic to prevent corrosion and sun damage. Additionally, verify the wind load rating (e.g., up to 200km/h) to ensure the dish remains stable and aligned during storms.
To ensure legal operation and safety, products must comply with FCC (USA), CE (Europe), or IC (Canada) regulations. Specifically, check for RoHS compliance regarding hazardous substances and EN 301 893 for radio spectrum efficiency. Buyers should request Type Approval certificates from the supplier to avoid customs seizures.
Confirm the connector type, typically N-Type or SMA, to ensure it matches your wireless bridge or radio equipment. For high-speed data transmission, prioritize dishes that support MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology. If you are using specific brands like Ubiquiti or Mikrotik, ask the supplier if they provide custom mounting brackets for seamless integration.
The primary risk is regulatory non-compliance, as different countries have strict laws regarding radio frequency power. Another risk is physical damage during transit; parabolic dishes are prone to warping if not packed in reinforced wooden crates or high-density foam. A warped dish will significantly degrade signal focus and performance.
Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume and request a sample unit for field testing before committing to a bulk order. Negotiate for OEM branding (logo printing) and ask for a 1-2 year warranty period. Ensure the supplier provides a detailed technical datasheet and installation guide in English as part of the contract.
Always use Secured Payment services provided by the platform to protect your funds until the goods are shipped. For large orders, consider a Third-Party Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify the quantity, quality, and frequency accuracy of the antennas before they leave the factory.
Due to the large volume-to-weight ratio, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical choice for bulk orders. For urgent samples, International Express (DHL/FedEx) is preferred, but ensure the supplier uses double-walled corrugated boxes to prevent the edges of the dish from bending during handling.
