Acrylic bead manufacturers

High-quality acrylic beads should exhibit high transparency (92% light transmission) and a glass-like luster. Buyers must check for 'virgin acrylic' vs. 'recycled acrylic'; virgin material ensures the beads won't yellow over time. Ensure there are no visible mold injection lines, air bubbles, or cloudy patches within the beads, as these indicate poor manufacturing processes.

Focus on hole alignment and smoothness; the drill hole must be centered and free of burrs to prevent thread breakage. Specify the diameter tolerance (typically ±0.05mm) and weight consistency. For coated beads (like AB coating or metallic finishes), verify the adhesion strength to ensure the color does not peel or fade under friction or UV exposure.

Since beads are often used in children's crafts or wearable jewelry, they must comply with REACH (EU) and CPSIA (US) regulations. Specifically, they must be Lead-free, Phthalate-free, and Cadmium-free. Request EN71 Part 3 certification if the products are intended for the toy or educational market to ensure chemical safety.

Acrylic beads are lightweight but high-volume; therefore, shipping costs significantly impact the unit price. Negotiate based on weight-based pricing (per kg) rather than per piece for small beads. Seek suppliers on Made-in-China.com who offer tiered pricing, where moving from 50kg to 500kg can reduce costs by 20-35%.

The primary risk is color variance between batches (dye lot differences). Always request a pre-production sample (PPS) and ensure the supplier uses Pantone matching. Another risk is shipping damage; acrylic can scratch easily, so insist on vacuum-sealed bags or protective inner padding within the export cartons.

When requesting custom shapes or colors, clarify the mold fee (tooling cost) upfront. Many professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com will refund the mold fee once the cumulative order volume reaches a specific threshold (e.g., 50,000 units). Always define the Acceptable Quality Level (AQL 2.5/4.0) before signing the contract.

For small trial orders under 100kg, International Express (DHL/FedEx) is best for speed. For bulk commercial stock, Sea Freight (LCL) is the most economical. Given the high volume-to-weight ratio, ask your freight forwarder to calculate volumetric weight to avoid unexpected surcharges.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone third-party onsite inspections by SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Use Secured Payment services to ensure funds are only released after the Bill of Lading (B/L) is provided or the goods pass a pre-shipment inspection.
