Sublimation blanks rock slate manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize natural sedimentary stone with a uniform white polyester coating. The coating thickness is critical; it must be smooth and bubble-free to ensure vibrant color transfer. Look for slates with a high-gloss or matte finish depending on your market preference, and ensure the edges are hand-chiseled for an authentic aesthetic. Additionally, verify that the thermal stability of the slate can withstand temperatures of 180°C to 200°C (356°F to 392°F) without cracking.

Request information on the coating's UV resistance and scratch resistance. A high-quality coating should not yellow over time when exposed to sunlight. You should ask suppliers for washability test reports or adhesion test results (Cross-Cut Test) to ensure the image won't peel or fade. For B2B buyers, sourcing from manufacturers on Made-in-China.com who provide SGS or Intertek certifications for chemical safety (like REACH or RoHS) is highly recommended.

Standard commercial shapes include Rectangular (SH-01 to SH-15 sizes), Square, Heart-shaped, and Circular. Common dimensions range from 10x10cm for coasters to 30x30cm for large photo plaques. Ensure the supplier provides matching plastic or wooden display stands and individual bubble-wrap packaging for each unit to prevent breakage during transit.

Sublimation slates require a Flatbed Heat Press or a 3D Vacuum Sublimation Machine. Because rock is a natural material with slight thickness variations, a silicone pad or heat-resistant foam is often necessary to distribute pressure evenly. Ensure your supplier provides a technical data sheet specifying the recommended time (usually 360-480 seconds) and pressure settings for their specific coating.

Rock slates are fragile and heavy. You must mandate 5-layer corrugated export cartons and ensure each slate is individually protected by EPE foam or thick bubble bags. For bulk orders, insist on palletization with plastic wrap and corner protectors. It is advisable to negotiate a 1-2% breakage allowance or a replacement clause in the sales contract for items damaged during transit.

Focus on Total Landed Cost rather than just the unit price. Since slates are heavy, shipping costs can exceed product costs. Negotiate for FOB (Free On Board) terms if you have your own forwarder, or compare CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) quotes. On Made-in-China.com, look for 'Audited Suppliers' and request a sample kit containing different shapes to verify coating consistency before placing a full container load.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until shipping documents are verified. For large volumes, consider a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L). Conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify the quantity and quality of the coating before the balance is paid.

Verify the HS Code (typically 680300 for worked slate) to determine the import duty rates in your country. Ensure the supplier provides a Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and Certificate of Origin. Some regions may require a Fumigation Certificate if wooden pallets are used, so ensure the supplier uses heat-treated (ISPM 15) pallets to avoid customs delays.
