Stainless steel glasses manufacturers

For high-quality eyewear, prioritize 316L Surgical Grade Stainless Steel or 304 Grade. 316L is superior due to its hypoallergenic properties and extreme corrosion resistance, making it ideal for prolonged skin contact. Ensure the supplier provides a Material Mill Certificate to verify the alloy composition and prevent issues with nickel allergies.

Focus on the Vacuum Ion Plating (IP) process rather than traditional water electroplating; IP plating offers superior color retention and wear resistance. Additionally, check for flexible spring hinges (tested for 20,000+ cycles) and adjustable silicone nose pads to ensure ergonomic fit and long-term mechanical reliability.

Products must comply with ISO 12870 (Ophthalmic optics - Spectacle frames). For the US market, FDA Registration is mandatory as glasses are classified as Class I medical devices. For the EU, ensure the frames carry the CE Mark and meet REACH regulations regarding nickel release (EN 16128) to ensure consumer safety.

Request a Cross-Cut Test report to check coating adhesion and a Salt Spray Test (24-48 hours) to simulate sweat corrosion. Inspect the welding points (specifically the bridge and end-pieces) for smoothness; high-quality frames use laser welding to ensure seamless joints without excess solder.

Implement a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) using the AQL 2.5/4.0 standard. Since eyewear is a precision product, even minor scratches or misalignments can lead to high return rates. Utilize the inspection services offered by Made-in-China.com to verify quality before the final payment is released.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just unit price. Ask for tiered pricing (e.g., 500, 1000, 5000 units) and request that customized packaging (branded cases and microfiber cloths) be bundled into the unit price. For long-term partnerships, negotiate a 1-2% defect allowance or spare parts (screws, nose pads) included at no extra cost.

Ensure the use of double-corrugated export cartons with internal moisture-proof polybags. Each frame should be in an individual protective sleeve to prevent surface abrasion during transit. For air freight, verify the volumetric weight calculations, as eyewear is lightweight but can be bulky when packaged with hard cases.

Always use Secured Payment services provided by reputable B2B platforms like Made-in-China.com. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the lead time, shipping Incoterms (e.g., FOB or DAP), and detailed product specifications to provide legal recourse in case of disputes.
