Glass plate glassware manufacturers

When sourcing glass plates, prioritize Soda-Lime Glass for general use or Borosilicate Glass for high-thermal resistance. Ensure the products are Lead-free and Cadmium-free to comply with food safety regulations. For premium markets, look for High-White Glass which offers superior clarity and a crystal-like appearance without the heavy metal content.

For the US market, products must meet FDA 21 CFR standards and California Proposition 65 regarding lead and cadmium leaching. For the EU, compliance with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 and Directive 84/500/EEC is essential. Always request Migration Test Reports from accredited third-party labs like SGS or TUV to ensure safety during food contact.

Verify if the glass is Tempered (Toughened), which increases mechanical strength by 3 to 5 times compared to regular glass. For items intended for microwave or oven use, confirm a Thermal Shock Resistance rating of at least 120°C to 150°C. Ask suppliers for Annealing certificates to ensure internal stresses were properly removed during manufacturing, preventing spontaneous breakage.

Suppliers on Made-in-China.com typically offer Decal Printing, Color Glazing, Ion Plating (Electroplating), and Sandblasting. For high-end hospitality, Laser Engraving of logos provides a permanent, dishwasher-safe branding solution. Ensure that any surface decorations are Dishwasher Safe and do not compromise the chemical stability of the food-contact surface.

Glassware requires 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and individual bubble wrap or EPE foam for each unit. For bulk sea freight, insist on Palletization with Plastic Wrap to prevent shifting. Specify a Drop Test Standard (ISTA 1A or 2A) in your contract to ensure the packaging can withstand the rigors of cross-border logistics.

Glass production is often continuous (tank furnace); therefore, MOQs for machine-made plates are usually high (e.g., 5,000-10,000 units). To get better pricing, align your order with the factory's Existing Production Schedule to save on mold-change costs. For smaller batches, look for suppliers with Ready-to-Ship (RTS) inventory on Made-in-China.com.

Use Secure Payment Terms such as Letters of Credit (L/C) or Escrow services provided by reputable platforms. Never pay 100% upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is common. Conduct a Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify the AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) for bubbles, scratches, and rim smoothness before final payment.

Be aware that certain regions, such as the EU or Turkey, may impose Anti-dumping Duties on specific types of Chinese glassware. Always check the HS Code (typically 7013.xx) against your local customs tariff schedule. Work with experienced exporters on Made-in-China.com who can provide a Certificate of Origin to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
