Food dish manufacturers

When sourcing food dishes, prioritize Food-Grade Stainless Steel (304 or 316) for durability, High-Quality Ceramic (Bone China or Stoneware) for heat retention, or BPA-Free Melamine for lightweight commercial use. Ensure the materials are non-toxic, lead-free, and cadmium-free to prevent chemical leaching into food. For high-temperature environments, verify that the products are microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe to meet modern consumer demands.

Compliance is critical for food-contact materials. For the US market, products must meet FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations under 21 CFR. For the EU, adherence to Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 and LFGB (Lebensmittel- und Futtermittelgesetzbuch) is essential. Always request Migration Test Reports from third-party labs like SGS or TUV to ensure the dish does not transfer harmful substances to food.

Focus on the glaze consistency and surface smoothness; there should be no pinholes, bubbles, or cracks where bacteria can accumulate. For ceramic dishes, check the water absorption rate (lower is better for hygiene). For glass, ensure it is tempered or borosilicate glass to provide high thermal shock resistance, preventing shattering during sudden temperature changes.

For hotels and restaurants, prioritize stackability to save storage space and edge chip resistance to reduce replacement costs. Look for suppliers who offer reinforced rims and a high-fired finish that resists metal marking from cutlery. Ensure the supplier can provide long-term stock availability for specific designs to allow for consistent replacements over time.

Fragile items like food dishes require 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual bubble wrap or EPE foam padding. Request the supplier to perform a Drop Test (ISTA 1A or 2A) before shipment. For bulk orders, palletization with shrink wrap is mandatory to minimize manual handling and vibration damage during sea freight.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Ask for tiered pricing based on volume (e.g., 500 vs. 5,000 units) and request customized packaging/branding to be included in the quote. If you are a repeat buyer, negotiate for flexible payment terms such as 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L) to improve your cash flow.

Always verify the supplier's Business License and Export License on the platform. Use Secured Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until the goods are shipped. It is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspection agency to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify quantity, quality, and packaging compliance before final payment.

Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) which may apply to ceramic tableware from certain regions in markets like the EU or Brazil. Ensure all shipping documents (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin) clearly state the HS Code (e.g., 6911.10 for porcelain) and include a Declaration of Compliance (DoC) for food safety to avoid customs delays or seizures.
